My name is Eloïse, I’m a French textile designer and the founder of Kaisla.

"Kaisla" is an old Finnish name, from a country that is close to my heart as I have lived there for many years. Whilst there, I learned crochet and knitting again. It's in Hamburg, Germany, where I live now, that the Kaisla project started.

More than anything else, wall hangings are my specialty but I also create accessories such as baskets.

My works are unique pieces, entirely handmade with high grade or recycled material. I'm working in collaboration with providers who, just like me, pay great attention to the high quality of their products and services.

My collections are inspired from my life, my experiences, what touches me. Nothing more.

The story of Kaisla

Why this name? Kaisla is an old female Finnish name but it still sounds incredibly modern. That is actually the essence of my work; use the old, the forgotten, in order to give it a second life in a contemporary setting.

After living for 10 years in Finland, I absolutely wanted to keep a connection with this beautiful country. The minimalism and the wonderful handcraft that can be found there continue to be a great source of inspiration for me.
